If you come here feeling anger at the notion anyone would have the audacity to claim that Satan wrote The Bible, I apologize. It is not my desire to cause anyone to feel negative emotions. If your neck is stiff or your shoulders are up around your ears, please take a moment to relax. Take a deep breath. Put a smile on your face even if you don’t at all feel like smiling. I hope that makes you feel a little better.
I advise you not to read the Satan Wrote the Bible essay as it is unlikely it will make you feel better. Read the essay on love instead. It is based on the biblical teachings of love for everyone.
The Satan essay is based on what those who believe there is a Satan believe about him. It is a rational argument using empathy. Its purpose is to make people think, nothing more or less. I have no desire to make anyone angry or upset or to change anyone’s belief.

There are so many contractions in the Bible that it is easy to know that something went wrong when they wrote it! I am sure many Christians appreciate your thoughts on this issue. Imagine that in the first month or so after God created Adam and Eve they were banned from God’s plan. What can we expect when He renews the earth again? Will Satan do it all over again? Mess God’s plan up? It seems like a vicious circle. What is the truth?

It is a pity that many people are taught at an early age that their religion is the only true religion and that they should not question it. If you are not questioning, you are not learning.
The truth regarding the contradictions in the Bible is that it was written by many men based on stories that were passed down orally through many generations with corrections, embellishments, errors and, I suspect, some intentional defraudment. We should keep in mind that these men thought the world was the center of the universe and that the earth was flat. They should be admired for the philosophical/psychological truths they discovered but thinking should not stop.
If you have debated with someone who takes the Bible literally, you have probably reached a point in the debate where your opponent says, “it is a leap of faith.” That is where a debate between rational or logical thought and religious belief has reached an impasse. That is where I say, “Leave your leap of faith behind and use your God-give mind.” By the way, when I say that, I am not stating my own belief on the existence of a supreme being but rather using language that should resonate with the person I’m debating.
